The world is loud, and the road is wide,
I try to see what’s on the other side.
But my own wisdom is a fragile thread,
And a heavy mist is hanging overhead.
So I close my eyes, and I take a breath,
Stepping out of fear, away from doubt and death.
I will trust in the Lord with all my heart,
Where my understanding ends, Your mercies start.
I won’t lean on what I think I know,
In the quiet waters where Your blessings flow.
In all my ways, I surrender to Your will,
And You make my paths straight, peaceful and still.
There is freedom when I let it go,
Admitting that I do not have to know.
You see the ending from the very start,
You hold the broken pieces of my heart.
Every tangled crossroads, every winding lane,
You breathe Your peace, and wash away the pain.
I will trust in the Lord with all my heart,
Where my understanding ends, Your mercies start.
I won’t lean on what I think I know,
In the quiet waters where Your blessings flow.
In all my ways, I surrender to Your will,
And You make my paths straight, peaceful and still.
You clear the rocks, You smooth the ground,
In Your direction, I am found.
Step by step, day by day,
You are the truth, You are the way.
He makes my paths straight.
No longer leaning on my own mind…
Just resting in Your design.
Trusting in the Lord.
With all my heart.
