A Merry Little Christmas

Verse 1

I used to think that Christmas
Was a rather grand affair
With parties and invitations
And something fine to wear
But lately I’ve been thinking
There’s nothing I’d like more
Than a quiet Christmas evening
With the girl I most adore

I used to think that Christmas
Was ribbons, bows, and lace
A fancy dress, a fancy room
A fancy dinner place
But lately I’ve been thinking
There’s nowhere I would be
But a quiet Christmas evening
With you right next to me

Chorus

Give me a merry little Christmas with you
A favorite song and an evening for two
The fire is glowing
The snow’s falling too
Give me a merry little Christmas with you
The whole town is celebrating
And we’ve got reason to
Every Christmas is a merry one
When I’m spending it with you

Verse 2

We’ll skip the fancy parties
And dim the lights down low
You’ll steal my favorite sweater
And the last of the cocoa
I’ll say you look like trouble
I’ll say you’re trouble too
And underneath the mistletoe
There’s just one thing to do

Chorus

Give me a merry little Christmas with you
A favorite song and an evening for two
The fire is glowing
The snow’s falling too
Give me a merry little Christmas with you
The whole town is celebrating
And we’ve got reason to
Every Christmas is a merry one
When I’m spending it with you

Final Refrain

Give me a merry little Christmas with you
An old-fashioned Christmas, the whole evening through
And when it’s all over, I’ll beg for an encore
And I think I’ll want one too

Outro

A merry little Christmas
A very merry Christmas
A merry little Christmas with you
